Come and admire sensational views before dinner from our south west facing garden terrace. In winter we serve pre-dinner drinks and canapés by the log fires in one of our elegant lounges.

Dinner is served between 7.00 and 8.30 pm. We offer a selection of Canas, our superb 4 course dinner menu, and afterwards Farrer's coffee and Kendal mint cake. We have a thoughtfully produced wine list with an extensive selection of fine wines, pudding wines, and ports to choose from.

 

March 2014 Dinner Menu

 

This is the seasonal menu we are offering throughout March. There may be some changes to dishes as the chefs select the best of seasonal produce daily. The soup and sorbet, always delicious and always home made are changed frequently.

We also have a daily changing specials menu.

 

**Starters**

Pressed ham hock terrine, piccalilli, micro salad

Beetroot gravlax, potted salmon, yellow and red beets, horseradish emulsion

Warm tart of seasonal leeks, wild mushrooms, local blue cheese (v)

Grilled fillet of mackerel, butter poached potatoes, pickled grapes

Pan seared fillet of skrei cod, bubble and squeak, sauteed asparagus, truffle pearls

Breast of guinea fowl, smoked leg of guinea fowl kiev, saute potatoes, pickled baby vegetables, garlic butter and red wine sauce

Haunch of Grizedale venison, dauphine potatoes, braised leg of venison croquette, butternut, kale, juniper jus

Crispy fried polenta, sprouting broccoli, roast cherry tomatoes (v)

Cumbrian fillet steak, hand cut chips, oven roast tomato, flat mushroom, peppercorn sauce

We offer fillet steak every day with a supplement of £3.99
