The Lindeth Fell 3 day Christmas House Party [2009]
At Lindeth Fell we offer a traditional Christmas, with superb AA rosette standard cooking and good company set in stunning Lakeland scenery, in a warm, friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
Christmas Eve
Arrive in time for our delicious full afternoon tea served between 3.00 and 4.30pm. Relax after your journey in front of a log fire, with a selection of sandwiches, followed by delicious scones with jam and cream, shortbread, sandwich cake, meringues and biscuits [all home made].
Christmas Day
The morning may be as active as you choose. Take your camera for a stroll on one of several short walks from the hotel, like nearby Post Knott which offers fabulous views over Lake Windermere. Our private tarn is an idyllic spot to sit for a while if wrapped up warm. Or you may prefer a leisurely morning in the lounge with coffee and your Christmas presents. The highlight of the day is our traditional five course Christmas lunch [1pm] with all the trimmings. Enjoy the afternoon in front of the fire with one of our board games, or tackle the Lindeth Fell quiz. Later, we serve a buffet dinner before the annual (amateur) Indoor Bowls competition!
Boxing Day
A private heated launch will take all our guests on a cruise on Lake Windermere. Lunch is served with mulled wine. You may like to extend the outing by walking back to the hotel around Cockshott point by the lake side. Otherwise our minibus will return you to the hotel. Tea and Christmas cake will be served while The Lakes Handbell Ringers play for us.
27th December
Time for farewells after a final hearty Lakeland breakfast, with happy memories of a Christmas well spent. |
