Location

Lindeth Fell is situated in seven acres of private grounds, a mile and a half from the centre of Bowness. Bowness is on Lake Windermere and is our nearest town bustling with cafes, restaurants, shops and cinema. There is a pleasant half an hour downhill walk from Lindeth Fell to Bowness around the edge of the lake. The roads are rural with no pavements and we do not advise walking after dark. To drive takes 3 minutes to the centre of Bowness. There are plenty of car parks, or take a taxi.

Taxis

Taxis in our area are very easy to obtain and inexpensive. A taxi for 2 from Bowness to Lindeth Fell is £3.50. Supplements after 11 pm and Bank holidays.

Walks

There are some terrific walks around Bowness and Windermere, many of which can be started at our door. Even on the busiest of bank holidays, the surrounding fells are unlikely to be crowded. We can offer advice and inspiration, and have a number of good maps and books for sale.

Cumbria’s finest local produce features heavily on most menus, especially dishes such as curly Cumberland sausage, tattie hotpot and Herdwick lamb. Do contact us if you would like any help choosing or booking as the best places are popular and often busy. Please see our recommendations on our web site or contact us for assistance.
